When mapping out the addition, we had to break through the second floor somewhere and these somewhere came through a room at the back of the house, now designated as our daughter Elle's room. This room initially had two windows; however, with the addition of the master, we lost one of those windows. Rearranging the closet and hall, we were able to make a sizable and funtional room that, even with the loss of a window, remains light and bright.
With the addition, we needed to get to the new room in the house and we did so but extending the already existing hallway. We ditched the closet and swapped it for an extension to the master bedroom. Now, even though it is a narrow space with a funky ceiling, it ties together the old and new and looks pretty lovely doing so.
